AI governance self-assessment: terms of use

Last updated: 21 October 2026

What this tool is

The AI governance self-assessment is a free tool from MS Advisory (Provenance GRC Ltd, trading as MS Advisory, company no. 17534301). It gives a point-in-time spot check of some areas where an organisation's governance of AI may be insufficient. The score and gaps are generated by rules based on MS Advisory's professional judgement, applied only to the answers you enter.

Who the tool is for

The tool is intended for use by organisations and people acting for them in the course of business, not by consumers. It is designed for organisations in the United Kingdom and the European Union and is not intended for use where the law or courts of the United States or Canada apply. By using it you confirm you are using it for business purposes.

What it is not

It is not legal, regulatory, data protection, financial or other professional advice. It is not an audit, a certification or an assurance of compliance. It does not replace advice from a qualified adviser about your own circumstances.

No adviser relationship

Using the tool, or receiving a report from it, does not make you or your organisation a client of MS Advisory and does not create any duty of care or advisory relationship.

Limits of the content

The tool covers only some UK and EU rules, and only some sectors. It does not include the full or most up-to-date regulatory framework. Rules and AI products change often; information is checked periodically but may be out of date when you use it. Tool and product names are examples, not recommendations.

Scores over time

The scoring rules reflect MS Advisory's professional judgement at the time and may change. Scores produced by different versions of the tool may not be directly comparable. Each report shows the date it was completed.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your answers, and for any decisions you make. MS Advisory does not see, check or store your answers.

Sharing your report

If you share your report with others (for example your board, investors, auditors or customers), MS Advisory owes them no duty and accepts no responsibility to them. No one other than you has any right to enforce these terms.

Reliance and liability

You should not rely on the tool or its report as the sole basis for any decision. To the extent permitted by law, MS Advisory accepts no liability for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the tool or its report. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Subject to that, MS Advisory's total liability arising from the tool or any report, however caused, is limited to £100.

Availability

The tool is provided free and "as is". It may contain errors, and it may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time without notice. MS Advisory does not guarantee it will be available or work on every device or browser, and is not responsible for problems with your own device or software when you use it or download a report.

Third-party names and links

Product and company names in the tool are examples only and may be trade marks of their owners. Their inclusion is not an endorsement or recommendation. MS Advisory is not responsible for third-party websites or services.

Using the tool and the report

You may use the tool, and use and share your own completed report, for your organisation's own purposes. You may not copy, adapt or republish the questionnaire, or use it in paid work for others, without written permission.

Privacy

Your answers stay in your browser for 24 hours after your last change and are never sent to MS Advisory. See the privacy policy for the usage counts the site collects.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions about these terms: use the contact page at ms-advisory.co.uk/contact.

Changes and law

These terms may change; the version in force is the one on this page when you use the tool. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
